Damaris Pierce, reigning Miss Frontier Country, will be the guest speaker at the Edmond Kiwanis Club's March 10th noon meeting. Miss Pierce will speak on the importance of "Redefining Self Image", which was her platform during the Miss American Scholarship Organization competitions.
Miss Pierce is a 21-year-old senior at Oklahoma State University majoring in public relations. Damaris competed in the 2009 Miss Oklahoma Scholarship Program, where she finished 4th Runner-Up.
Damaris will continue to serve as Miss Frontier County until June 2010. As part of these duties, she recently made several presentations and program appearances for the National Eating Disorders Awareness Week in February.
Citizens are welcome to attend the Edmond Kiwanis meeting which starts at 11:30 am in the Cherokee Room just left of the main cafeteria in the UCO Nigh Student Center. Club members will be glad to tell you about Kiwanis youth programs such as Key Clubs in Edmond high schools and the Circle K Club at UCO.
